Te Awa-Sought, Savoured, Remembered

This is the original Te Awa philosophy and reflects rusticity, earthiness and interest.

We have returned to the original Te Awa Farm ethos of winemaking that reflects tradition, is made in small quantities and offers an intellectual experience when you drink it. From 2009 this range comprises of Sauvignon Blanc/ Sémillon, Chardonnay, Syrah and Cabernet/ Merlot. These are holistic, layered and complex wines.

Left Field-Think Left, Drink Right

This range of wines is a new concept from an old idea. In 2006 Te Awa made the first Left Field Chardonnay.

This stemmed from a Left Field idea: what would happen if Chardonnay juice was fermented in a stainless steel barrel as opposed to an oak barrel? The wine was great and the rest is history. From 2009 this Left Field thinking has been expanded to a range of wines: Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Syrah and Merlot. Each Left Field wine incorporates a concept that challenges the orthodoxy of winemaking or perhaps regional styles and conventions.
